Learn about Chad's personal and professional influences and how it has shaped his path to run for the D.C. Bar President-Elect.
Thanks for clicking this link and taking a few moments to learn some things about me personally.
While I grew up in New Jersey, spent my college years at Duke University in North Carolina, and served on active duty in the Army at Fort Bragg and deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, I was trained in the law in the District of Columbia at GW, and at every opportunity I have had to choose where I practice and teach, I have chosen to be in and around DC.
My professional journeys have taken me around the world, and I have been fortunate not to walk these paths alone. My incredible wife, Christina Guerola Sarchio, has joined me nearly every step of the way while building a tremendous legal career of her own, first as a NYC prosecutor, then in private practice with impressive DC law firms like Dechert, where she currently works. She has also helped lead our Bar and both local and national voluntary bars serving Hispanic attorneys. (While I hope to earn your vote and believe I am worthy of it, it seems obvious that I will never rise higher than the second-best lawyer in my household.)
We are raising an incredible son and daughter, both teens, who inspire us every day with their grit, intellect, humor, strength of body and character, and values.
With all of the spare time that our parental and professional commitments leave us, we enjoy activities like personal fitness, travel, restoring and babying classic cars, whitewater rafting, and chasing after our rescue mutt.
But for a labor of love like helping lead the DC Bar, and having ended my military career last summer, plenty of time, energy and bandwidth remain. I have many blessings in my life, but serving as your next president-elect would be my greatest privilege. I appreciate your consideration, and I hope I can earn your vote.
